PATRIOT HEART READINESS

Meet Our Founder
Doc Ashby is the founder of Patriot Heart Readiness, a training and coaching company built for proactive individuals, families, and church or workplace leaders who take personal protection and preparedness seriously. He is known for turning fragmented “range time, fitness, and YouTube medicine” into a single, defensible readiness system, one that works under stress and fits real life.
His signature approach is a medically-centered readiness system. It's a practical framework that integrates fitness, lifesaving medical response, situational awareness, self-defense dynamics, and firearms safety into repeatable drills, clear SOPs, and measurable training standards.
Before his military career, Doc spent time in professional wrestling, where he learned to simulate violence, but real-world events and a growing desire to stand beside and support his brother, who was serving as a U.S. Marine, pushed him toward a greater purpose. That calling led him into the U.S. Army, where he gained firsthand experience in medical response, tactical readiness, and high-pressure decision-making.
After transitioning out of the Army in 2017, he turned his focus toward helping others become better prepared for the realities of today’s world. Combining his military medical background, security experience, and passion for readiness, he founded Patriot Heart Readiness to train and equip people to protect life, reduce threats, and respond with confidence.
Today, Doc trains organizations and individuals across the U.S., equipping everyday people to become calm, competent, and capable protectors in an increasingly unpredictable world.

Why PHR - Our Difference
Most training programs focus on isolated skills.

A firearms course may teach marksmanship.
A fitness program may build strength.
A medical class may teach first aid.
A self-defense seminar may teach techniques.

But real emergencies don’t happen in isolation.

When violence, trauma, or crisis unfolds, the ability to protect life depends on more than one skill. It depends on how those skills work together under pressure.

That’s where Patriot Heart Readiness is different.

At the core of everything we teach is our Medically-Centered Readiness System—a practical, integrated framework designed to prepare individuals and organizations for real-world emergencies.

We train readiness from the inside out:
• The physical capability to move, carry, and endure under stress
• The medical knowledge to recognize, treat, and stabilize life-threatening injuries
• The situational awareness to identify danger before it escalates
• The tactical decision-making to act with clarity in high-pressure moments
• The protective mindset to remain calm, capable, and effective when others freeze

Because in real emergencies, the mission is not simply to stop the threat.

The mission is to preserve life.

That requires more than confidence.
It requires competence.

At Patriot Heart Readiness, we build both.
